Spanish Courses is an app the pulls in other people's videos and assembles them into an app. The branding is still on the videos but we wonder if the videos are being pulled from YouTube. There is no YouTube branding on the videos.
The quality and depth of the app is completly dependant on the videos done by others. Some are high quality and some are not. Some have great information and some do not. You can favorite the videos you like and later select them from the favorites screen. You will have to search through the videos but you will find some that are worth watching.
There are lots of videos with varying levels of vocabulary.
Do to the nature of the app there are no quizzes, nor exercises.
Some videos have short phrases and others are full length shows.
You will also find videos with grammar. Some videos are poor quality but the information is good.
Similar to grammar you will find some information on verbs but nothing that is searchable or that can be easily referenced.
We are looking for Spanish apps that are best suited for students. They need to be rich in Spanish language content.
Spanish Content Score: 29/50
An app also needs to be attractive and function well in order to encourage its use and bring students back to app time and time again. The app should be a Windows 10 universal app that works across Windows 10 devices and screen sizes. Navigation should be intuitive and easy. Paid apps should have a free trial.
This is a Windows 10 app.
The app crashes at around 725 pixels or less so if you were planning on having the video playing in a small window on the side of the monitor you can forget it. The videos themselves are very limited in their ability to resize. It would be nice to be able to have the video take up more of the screen or even go full screen.
The app is basically 2 pages, the main page and then the video page. Beware of the hamburger button though as that will crash the app.
There really isn't much to the app. The basic design has a grid of videos on the main page and the video page has a list of videos in the series below the video. The hamburger menu is stuck open. The video thumbnails are very low quality, almost blurry.
Free app with no advertising.
DOWNLOAD IT! OR SKIP IT!
Some of the videos are worth watching and the app makes it a little easier than watching them on YouTube. It would be nicer without the bugs, with a larger video size and some design improvements.
